Brewsters Beer Garden is located in the historic district of downtown Petaluma. We are an open-air dining restaurant with over 350 seats. Our cuisine is focused on technique driven dishes influenced by Southern Carolina BBQ and a smattering of locally sourced and sustainably raised Petaluma producers and ranchers. Think southern BBQ meets California produce with a refined touch of explosive flavors. The dining space compliments the food perfectly as guests are treated to outdoor seating in a historic setting, with the comforts of large heat lamps, fire pit, bocce court, childrens playground and live music stage. We offer an array of over 30 revolving local craft beers on draft, Sonoma and Napa Valley wine, and a full selection of spirits and cocktails. Brewsters was built for people that want more than just a good meal when they eat, they want a dining experience. We are laid back, kid friendly, and like to have fun.

THE TEAM

CHRIS BEERMAN

EXECUTIVE CHEF

Chris graduated from Johnson & Wales University with a degree in Culinary Arts before beginning his first restaurant job at The Blue Point Bar and Grill in Duck, North Carolina. He has traveled across the country working with highly acclaimed chefs and restaurateurs like Jean Platt at Q, and Nancy Oaks at Boulevard.

Prior to Brewsters Chris owned and operated the popular diner Citizens Band and Pinkies Bakery, where he was the Executive Chef and oversaw all operations for the award wining restaurant.

Chris meticulously crafted the Brewsters menu after spending a whole lot of time eating a whole lot of meat.

BEN HETZEL

GENERAL MANAGER

Ben also graduated from Johnson & Wales University and worked with the Blue Point group after earning his degree in Culinary Arts. Without knowing it, Chris and Ben were setting their course towards Brewsters from the banks of North Carolina.

But before that could happen, Ben spent 10 years working his way up through the ranks at the Ritz Carlton, opened his first restaurant, Uva Enoteca in 2008, then further honed his skills managing all front of the house operations as GM and wine director at Daniel Patterson’s Alta CA.

Ben brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience ensuring you'll have a comfortable (and delicious) visit.

ALFIE TURNSHEK

BEVERAGE DIRECTOR

Alfie Turnshek is a veteran hospitality industry professional with over twenty years experience. Centered in the San Francisco bay area, he has worked about every position imaginable in a restaurant setting, and for the last 10 years has been operating bars at a management level. Primarily focused on front-of-house operations, his skill sets range the gamut, from competent cook, to superlative bartender, and well-liked leader of restaurant staff. His eye toward meticulous detail has resulted in bars that specialize in award-winning beverage programs and the hospitality offering to match. 

Alfie's robust knowledge of the beverage world is firmly rooted in his countless days of product testing as a youth. He has taken a strong affinity to a great margarita.
